🗳️ Bihar Elections 2025 – Phase I Marks Historic Voter Turnout!
📍 Patna, November 6, 2025 — The first phase of the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2025 concluded peacefully today with a record-breaking 64.66% voter turnout, the highest ever in the state’s electoral history, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, monitored the entire polling process through 100% live webcasting from the ECI Control Room in New Delhi.
🗳️ Key Highlights:
121 Assembly Constituencies across 18 districts voted in this phase, with over 3.75 crore registered voters.
More than 4 lakh polling personnel ensured smooth conduct at 45,341 polling stations.
Mock polls were completed before 7 AM with the participation of 67,902 polling agents representing 1,314 candidates.
For the first time, colored candidate photos on EVMs, mobile deposit facilities, and redesigned Voter Information Slips (VIS) enhanced the voter experience.
Wheelchairs, e-rickshaws, and volunteers were provided to assist PwD and elderly voters.
90,000 Jeevika Didis were deployed across polling stations to help identify Purdahnasheen women voters.
🌍 International Recognition:
Under the International Election Visitors’ Programme (IEVP), delegates from South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Belgium, and Colombia observed the polls and praised the Bihar election for being “transparent, efficient, and participative.”
