Patna, November 12, 2025 — The Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2025 concluded with a record-breaking voter turnout of 66.91%, marking the highest participation in the State since its first elections in 1951.
Notably, female voter turnout reached an unprecedented 71.6%, the highest in Bihar’s history, surpassing male voter turnout of 62.8%.

Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, closely monitored the polls from the ECI Control Centre through extensive webcasting across all 45,399 polling stations during Phase-II.
Over the two phases, more than 8.5 lakh polling staff and over 1.4 lakh polling agents representing 2,616 contesting candidates ensured smooth and transparent conduct of the elections. The process was overseen by 243 General Observers, 38 Police Observers, and 67 Expenditure Observers.
Adding an international dimension, 16 delegates from six countries — South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Belgium, and Colombia — participated in the International Election Visitors’ Programme (IEVP). They lauded the Bihar elections as among the most transparent, efficient, and participative globally.
